This hands-on role will equate to Number 1 in Finance. Your focus will be on Management Accounts, however given the size of the team you will have a broad role including managing a Finance team of 3 and dealing with key stakeholders in the business.

Description

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of regular and ad hoc journals in General Ledger
  • Generate and review management information reports from financial data
  • Interpret management information and present numbers to the wider business
  • Deal closely with stakeholders who will be franchise partners, managers of the business and Managing Director
  • Prepare month end P&L and Monthly Performance Review pack for review with Directors
  • Assist with monthly ABI cash flow requests
  • Completion of regular balance sheet reconciliations (debtors/creditors/stock/accruals/prepayments etc.)
  • Managing the AP and AR ledgers
  • Assessment and introduction of controls where appropriate
  • Reconciliation of the monthly credit card statement
  • Setting up new suppliers in the accounting software to allow invoices to be posted and paid
  • Reconciliation of the bank accounts on a regular basis
  • Preparation of weekly payment runs and any ad hoc payments required
  • Management of unreceipted POs

Profile

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Qualified CIMA, ACCA or equivalent qualification
  • Previous experience of Management Accounting environment, as well as AP & AR teams required
  • Advanced excel skills (formulas, pivot tables - macros not required)
  • Knowledge of other Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent people skills and ability to manage a team of 3
  • Ability to manipulate large data sets into meaningful reporting to various operational teams and to directors
  • Good communicator at all levels of the business and externally, both verbally and through reporting
  • Experience of managing own work load and working independently with stakeholders across the business
  • Understanding of accrual and prepayment mechanisms
  • Knowledge of Sage
  • Previous experience dealing with cash management and/or working capital requirements
  • Ability to operate within developing control environment and assisting in identification of control gaps
