You will operate as a number 2 in fiance to the Chief Fiance Officer. You will be overseeing the day to day operation of the central finance team, dealing with regional colleagues and directors as necessary to ensure they are of a high standard. You will also develop and manage a financial team focused on financial compliance and continued adherence to the systems to ensure risk is minimised.

My client is a charitable company who's primary regulator is the department for education. They are well established in the UK and due to their huge success they are looking to expand their team of around 2300 Employees, creating this position for an exceptional individual.

Description

  • Oversee the central finance team and ensure central processes are robust, timely and accurate.

  • Provide high level professional financial advice to the CFO

  • Develop and promote the central finance team and line manage the team (1 AP, 1 Management Accountant, 1 Apprentice)

  • Ensure all financial policies are up to date and compliant with the EFA's requirements.

  • Manage the forecasting process for Group cash flow and preparation of Group's VAT returns

  • Provide leadership to the Trusts accounting function ad ensure the central team have a strong oversight.

    • Profile

    • Qualified level accountant: ACCA, ACA, CIMA, QBE Qualified
    • Understanding the basic procurement rules and practises
    • Public sector experience.
    • Previous experiences in team management
    • Good experience of Building and maintain professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
    • Willingness to travel throughout the country and occasionally stay overnight if required.
    • Ability to interpret complex data
