An experienced and robust Management Accountant/Finance Manager for a continually-developing manufacturing company based in Goole. You must be able to maximise profits and work efficiently with little supervision.

My client is a fast-paced and forward-thinking organisation within the manufacturing sector.
They are currently experiencing a period of significant growth and development and are now looking for a hands-on Finance Manager who can keep up with their impressive trajectory.
Description
Main Duties
Supervision of daily activities of the accounting function including:
- Purchase Ledger/Accounts payable
- Banking reconciliation and cash flow
- Accruals & prepayments
- Month end, journal preparation and entry with supporting reconciliations
- Weekly & months accounts review ensuring any variances are investigated and appropriate action taken
Preparation of preliminary monthly management accounts for review including:
- Sales, COS/purchases, stock, expenditure
- Preparation or preliminary cash flow statement s & tax returns for review
- KPI's
- Gross Margin/cost of sales reconciliation
- Calculation and analysis of standard variances with suggested actions
Assist the Finance Director to ensure financial controls are in place across the company, which are in accordance with Group Policy and actively adhered to.
Stock control
- Ensure Stock transactions are accurate and current
- Analyse and investigate unusual stock adjustments/discrepancies
- Oversee and validate physical counts under guidance of the FD
Product costing Controls - approves new product costings, changes, routings and bill of materials
Capex Control ensuring projects are monitored for costs, benefits, and compliance
Profile
The ideal candidate will have a very solid accountancy background and with daily control of ledgers be expected to add value to the business in terms or information generated and implemented actions.
You will be a driven and focused individual with ability to identify new opportunities and implement strategies to maximise revenue. You will need to be a flexible team player who is able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
Technical requirements for this role are
- Qualifies or Finalist in either of the major Financial qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role or with thorough practical understanding of accounting principles and techniques
- Preferable reporting and Manufacturing experience
- Comfortable working with multiple IT systems - MS Office, ERP (SAP, Navision or similar)
- Excellent Excel skills including pivot tables, graphs and data analysis
Personal attributes
- Comfortable in both and office and manufacturing environment
- Good organisation skills allowing prioritisation to deliver to agreed timescales
- Provide accurate and current information to high standard
- Develop existing Financial controls and adapt as necessary
