Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Lead and/or coordinate across appropriate business units implementation of activities in relation to regulatory, governance and first line of defense initiatives and projects locally or regionally, such as but not limited to:
    • Outsourcing
    • Anti-money laundering (AML) ongoing transformation
    • Volcker Rule
    • Conflicts of Interest
    • Business controls
    • Data Privacy
  • Participate as a representative of the local business unit in regional or global working groups as required
  • Facilitate and lead local working groups and coordinate with management to determine appropriate participation
  • Support business as usual ‘BAU' regulatory related activities when required
  • Review and provide feedback on policy and procedure documents, and implement policies and procedures, as directed by the APAC FLOD Office
  • Perform reviews, and establish, implement, and document control procedures
  • Periodically communicate and share first line of defense related information and updates to across business groups
  • Facilitate and support training and educational activities across businesses
  • Provide oversight management and act as first point of contact for outsourced regulatory related activities that are regionally or globally aligned
  • Produce, analyze and distribute FLOD associated reporting to management
  • Undertake Corporate Secretarial liaison role and act as the main point of contact between the Legal entities and external corporate secretaries for selected Southeast Asia entities, and track adherence to relevant company law or regulatory obligations.
  • Perform periodic reviews and conformance of State Street's Legal Entity Governance standards for selected Southeast Asia entities
  • Prepare monthly MIS presentation decks for Management to assess the performance and risks of the branch
  • Facilitate board of director and committee meetings including development of agendas, meeting logistics, and ensure minutes are accurately recorded, promptly distributed and action items tracked
  • Periodic monitoring of directorship of directors, change of director information and support as required
  • Track that annual general meetings are held in accordance with requirements of the Companies Act and the Company's Articles of Association

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Proven track record in a change management/project management, although not mandatory will be highly regarded
  • Experience in compliance related functions will be highly regarded
  • Demonstrated market knowledge and understanding of operational processes and the required controls
