Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer - Cambridge
I'm looking for a Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer who will work on a diverse range of innovative and challenging technologies for the communications and electronics industries. You will work across a broad range of sectors (consumer, industrial, automotive, medical and security & defence). Consequently, the work is varied, interesting and often technically challenging. I'm looking for an enthusiastic and flexible designer who will enhance both the mechanical design capability and increase the PCB layout capacity.
Some of your responsibilities will include:

- Produce drawings and BoMs and provide input into manufacturing data packs. Engineering drawings to BS8888. Geometric tolerancing. Tolerance analysis.
- Providing client support and dealing with suppliers both locally and across the globe.
- Schematic capture and PCB layout using (preferably) PADS PCB.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate understanding and experience of some or all of the following:
- 3D CAD, preferably Creo 2.0 (Pro/Engineer).
- Materials selection. Manufacturing and finishing processes.
- Use of sealing techniques to provide ingress protection against liquids and solids.

- Corrosion prevention/protection.
- Working knowledge of mechanical strength; stress and strain, and torque forces.
- Understanding of good design for assembly and manufacturing processes.
- Working knowledge of diverse manufacturing process including injection-moulding, sand and die-casting, sheet metal fabrication, precision machining, as well as practiced use of appropriate prototyping techniques.
- Schematic capture and PCB layout using one of the leading CAD packages, preferably DxDesigner/PADS PCB.
- Ability to work on multi-layered PCBs using industry standard techniques.
- Knowledge of RF, Analogue & Digital layout techniques.
