The role:

Our client is an award winning company that delivers services Australia wide, and has been based in Canberra for over 15 years. They provide professional 'client-side' Project Management and advisory services for the building, property and infrastructure sectors.

They are seeking a part-time Assistant Accountant to join their great office team, 25-30 hours per week. You need to have completed an Accounting Degree or be near completion of your Accounting Degree. With a high attention to detail and strong problem solving skills, you will be able to use your initiative to work independently and multi-task. You must possess advanced Excel skills and have experience using Xero Accounting system (or similar).

Responsibilities:
  • Accounts Payable; including data entry, payment and reconciliations
  • Credit Card Processing; including data entry and reconciliations
  • Accounts Receivable; including data entry, receipting, debtors management and reconciliations
  • Assist with month end processes and reconciliations; including prepayments, accruals and other journal entries
  • Assist with fixed assets and depreciation
  • Other general Accounts Administration duties required by Business Manager
Requirements:
  • Accounting Degree or near completion
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience in a similar industry (not essential)
  • IT literate and understanding of IT terminology highly desirable
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Experience using Xero (or similar)
  • Advanced Excel skills
