Our mining operation provides you with the opportunity to live locally and go home every day or stay in our Village for your roster and DIDO. We are only 130kms from the Perth CBD and approximately 100kms from the coast. You will work an 8:6/7:7 roster (8 day shifts on, 6 days off, 7 night shifts on and 7 days off so there will be plenty of time to enjoy the lifestyle this area can offer you.

What you will be doing

As a Maintenance Technician - Electrical Instrumentation with Newmont Boddington Gold you will be required to monitor and maintain equipment in this large crushing and processing plant ensuring we continue to meet and exceed our targets of approximately 110,000 tonne per day.

You will carry out servicing and electrical maintenance for all electrical equipment located in the Process Maintenance Department's area of responsibility. You will ensure maintenance activities are completed in a safe, efficient and effective manner and will be responsible for maximising the amount of scheduled maintenance and minimising the impact of unscheduled works.

Who you are

You will have previous experience in the operation and maintenance of electrical, electronic and instrumentation equipment used in a mining environment. A proactive approach and ability to problem solve along with self-motivation skills will be highly regarded

To be successful for this role, you will have the following:

  • An Electrical Trade certificate
  • Hold a current W.A. Electrical Workers Licence.
  • An understanding of AS3000, Mines Regulations and Acts as well as other relevant standards, acts and regulations.
  • C class driver's license

Preferred but not essential, you may possess:

  • Certificate IV in Electrical Instrumentation.
  • A High Voltage Switching certificate with High Voltage experience.
  • A Certificate of competency for EWP, Forklift (High Risk Licence).
  • Confined Space and Work at Heights experience. Understanding of Defect Elimination principles and its application.
  • Understanding of Maintenance Work Management Processes complete with use of CMMS (ie SAP or similar).
