Store Accountant

We are currently seeking a Store Accountant to join our team in Port Melbourne. The Store Accountant will be responsible for preparing monthly and yearly financial statements for a portfolio of shared venture stores and lodgement of all statutory returns to various regulatory bodies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Timely and accurate preparation of Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet Accounts for a portfolio of stores on a monthly basis
• Providing commentary for significant variances
• Ensuring all reconciliations are completed on a monthly basis with continued focus to clear unreconciled items
• Liaising with all store partners and other stakeholders on financial queries and results, and providing accurate information for analysis of store performance
• Lodge monthly Income Activity Statements/Quarterly BAS on a timely basis
• Accurate bank reconciliations for all store bank accounts
• Liaise with Tax Manager with year-end tax returns for all stores

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

• 1-3 years experience in public practice or industry
• Knowledge of accounting concepts
• Reconciliation skills
• Strong Excel Skills
• Fundamentals of Income Tax, GST legislation
• Superior written and verbal communication skills
