Product Accountant

Overview
SIG are currently recruiting a Product Accountant to join their Sydney team.
The Product Accountant is responsible for generating and reporting the daily profit and loss statements, and managing the trading accounts for the Asian region. The position will also provide opportunities to be involved in project based work and improvements in front and back office systems.
You are a good communicator, ability to communicate with different departments and personalities. You are a self-motivated individual, who is consistently looking at ways to improve processes. You will be a confident individual with an enthusiasm for continuous learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily profit and loss reporting for Asian markets.
Funding certain CCY's when required and managing capital across brokers.
Understanding the concept of broker margin charges and how it impacts the desks.
Ability to reconcile and analyse CCY exposure.
Experience in reporting in non-functional currencies.
Analysing accruals including capital usage, interest, expenses, commissions and stock borrow.
Reconciliation of front office estimates to prime broker reporting.
Various ad hoc projects including back office system and risk system development.
What we're looking for
4+ years profit and loss reporting experience within financial markets
Financial market product experience specifically equity derivatives are a necessity.
Experience in translation of foreign profit and loss into base currency.
Accounting related university degree.
Qualifications from Securities Institute Australia (SIA) are desirable
Technical Skills:
Intermediate Excel (Macro comprehension a plus)
Knowledge of equity options, equities, futures and FX.
Knowledge of corporate actions
Experience in Asian markets a preference

Excellent attention to detail
Confident and assertive
Good communication skills, ability to communicate with multiple departments, I.T. Front Office etc.
Ability to independently investigate and work through issues.
A proven track record of responsibility.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
