This is an excellent opportunity for a CCAB/QBE Accountant with Local Authority experience to work on the largest joint project between local authorities and the Welsh government.

Client Details

My client is entering into a phase where the 12 Local Authorities and the Welsh Government are working in partnership to invest £1.28 billion to increase connectivity, improve physical and digital infrastructure as well as regional business governance.

Description

Working with the Accountancy lead for the project, the Temporary Group Accountant will with providing a full range of Accountancy functions.

In particular the Group Accountant will review and comment on the Financial and Commercial aspects of project proposals and business cases.

You will update the Wider Investment Fund as business cases are approved and implemented.

Duties will include supervising other members of staff in the team on specific tasks.

Assisting the Accountancy Lead in reviewing all reports to Joint Cabinets and its sub-committees and providing Financial Implications advice as required.

Assisting the Accountancy Lead with all financial aspects of Programme Board related work including review of Business Cases and an assessment of the financial and commercial due diligence undertaken in respect of projects.

Profile

You will be a CCAB qualified Accountant or QBE with at least AAT qualification.

You will have excellent technical Financial Accounting skills, ideally gained in a Local Authority.

You will ideally have had hands on experience to reviewing business cases and working on financing arrangements for projects
