Financial Accountant

Overview: 

As a Financial Accountant in a dynamic sports marketing agency, you will play an integral role in our busy Finance team of eight, supporting 100+ employees and four entities cumulatively turning over £125m.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing annual statutory accounts and monthly/quarterly management accounts with comparison to budgets for four entities.
• Maintaining multi-currency ledgers.
• Preparing monthly/quarterly distribution statements to sports federations.
• Monitoring cash flow and currency exposure.
• Reviewing payments, sales invoices and VAT returns.
• Providing support to partners and heads of departments across the wider business. 
• Liaising with external auditors.
• Managing company insurance for commercial events (e.g. football matches).
• Entering journals and raising invoices, when required. 
• Undertaking other ad-hoc and day-to-day tasks of the Finance team, dealing with substantially international clients.

Skills and experience 

• Newly Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, ICAS or equivalent) with audit experience and a strong academic background.
• Strong double entry knowledge and experience.
• Confident knowledge of Microsoft packages, especially Excel.
• Experience using accounting systems and interest in further developing your knowledge. Experience using SUN software is a plus.
• Ability to read legal contracts, establish the financially pertinent aspects and incorporate these into the accounting system.   
• Confident and reliable, with a very keen eye for detail. 
• Excellent written and spoken English are essential.
• Knowledge of sports industry is an advantage.
