Credit Controller

Our client are looking for a Retail Credit Controller to join their modern offices in Central London. A background in fashion retail is essential for this role.

The client are a luxury fashion brand who opearte in all of the major retailers all over the world. They have a strong culture. Based in their Central London office.

Description

The successful retail credit controller will have responsibility for:

• Chasing debt via phone and email
• Updating the Sales ledger with commentary, credit limits and contact information.
• Attend quarterly credit forums to gain insight from peers in similar roles across the retail industry.
• Being flexible in devising payment plans with certain customers and ensuring they are adhered to.
• Carrying out Credit checks on new customers, suggesting and providing ongoing review of credit limits.
• Reporting overdue debts to the Credit Insurer and making sure we are compliant with our contract.
• Processing bad debt write offs and posting a monthly provision as per our Group Accounting Policy.
• Preparing Balance sheet reconciliations.
• Responsible for ensuring the debit note approval process is followed correctly. Working collaboratively with other members of the Finance team to raise credit notes and manual invoices.
• Monitoring external customer portals/EDI to ensure we have correctly matched Sales Invoices to Purchase
• Orders such that payments should be received without delay.

Profile

The candidate should possess sound academic credentials and a well-rounded and balanced profile. Some accounting systems experience is essential, but prior experience on SAP will be particularly valued. Intermediate Excel skills are essential, more advanced experience on Excel and other office applications preferred. Relevant experience in a wholesale/retail/fashion environment is desired but not essential (accountancy).

Job Offer

The successful retail credit controller would be offered a salary between 25 - 30k depending on experience, based in London.
