Working within the Central Business Services (CBS) and as a part of the Finance team as the Fixed Assets and Materials Accountant you will be responsible for ensuring strong financial processes are in place to manage fixed assets and ensuring that fixed assets exist and are properly valued in the balance sheet. Acting as key point of contact for the business unit capex controllers, the operations (logistics & industrial teams) and the IS team you will be accountable to ensure that the Material and Stock financial statements are complete and correct.

In this position you will:

• Manage and supervise day-to-day Fixed Assets accounting activities in accordance with the Group accounting policies & procedures, and local regulations. These activities may include: creation, write off, transfer, depreciation, investment order validation, capex calculation, etc.
• Monitor Assets Under Construction very closely and perform regular reviews with the business
• Ensure that a physical inventory of fixed assets process takes place every 2 years, and coordinate the process (instructions, recording results, action plan for continuous improvement)
• Support the CBS Reporting Manager to ensure that all fixed assets information is properly reported (e.g. roll-forward of fixed assets and completion of quarterly capex reporting schedules)
• Ensure appropriate compliance to internal governance standards
• Participate in business projects when required

To be successful in this position you will have:

• Tertiary qualification (CA or CPA qualified or partly qualified)

• 1-2 years' experience in a similar role completing month end reporting and asset and material process management and improvement
• Strong stakeholder management skills
• Strong communication skills
• A proactive approach and commitment to process improvement
• Strong attention to detail
