Our client, an globally recognised luxury cosmetics company, are looking to recruit a Group Payroll Supervisor to join their accountancy team in their brand new modern office in Central London. The role has become available due to this change of location and the ambitions of constant growth within the company.

Our client are a recognised, international personal care company. They specialise in hair/skin care, fragrances and cosmetics with office locations around the world which allows for international travel.

Description

The key responsibilities of the Group Payroll Supervisor:

  • The Payroll functions across all brands are being brought together under one team and under a new ERP system (SAP). The Payroll Supervisor will play a pivotal role in defining and then improving the systems and controls for the business as well as ensuring that processes are efficient and effective
  • This will include assisting with Japanese SOX control testing and ensuring controls and process documents are complete and continually updated
  • Accurate payment of employee salaries and benefits
  • Own the process for payment of staff wages and benefits, ensuring that joiners and leavers are correctly set up on the system and that all changes to terms are appropriately authorised
  • Define the process with the Sales Teams around overtimes and commissions. This is to ensure that payments are paid on time and in full, but also that they are correctly calculated and approved
  • Liaison with outsourced payroll providers and HMRC
  • Own the day to day relationship with our outsourced payroll providers and will support and challenge them where appropriate, solving issues but then to escalate to the Group FC or Group HRD where required
  • Main point of liaison with HMRC, there will be expected to keep their knowledge of current regulations and legislative requirements up to date
  • Accurate Reporting
  • Own the reporting on payroll data as required by the HR and Finance Teams. He/she will also agree KPIs and other metrics to accurately inform the business on payroll matters
  • Team leadership
  • Supervise performance of team and hold regular 121s and feedback sessions
  • Understand resourcing patterns and distribute tasks fairly across the team
  • Identify potential in their team and provide appropriate stretch and support

Profile

The successful Group Payroll Supervisor:

  • Previous experience leading a Payroll function in a large corporate environment
  • Experience of managing a team
  • Knowledge of HMRC procedures and requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to prioritise workload for self and for the team
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Personable approach but resilient when required
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing business demands

Job Offer

Up to £35,000 with additional benefits
