Financial Controller

Role:

The Financial Controller is responsible for the overall financial and business management of a growing organisation

Reporting:

The Financial Controller reports directly to the Managing Director

Responsibilities:

• Preparing monthly management accounts and information required for year-end financial statements on a timely basis.
• Take responsibility for preparing statutory financial documentation and filing annual returns.
• Liaise with company auditors and ensure tax compliance.
• Process payroll on a weekly basis.
• Manage all internal control activities, processes and procedures within the finance department.
• Monitoring and controlling costs within the business, finding improvements and efficiencies to enhance profitability. 
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable personnel, identifying and implementing process improvements where needed.
• Support the Managing Director in all key decisions with relevant and timely financial and operational analysis and commentary.  
• Play a key role in defining strategic priorities and the tactics which will best realise these goals.
• Carry out detailed financial and risk analysis of other business opportunities that may arise for the group and prepare comprehensive reports on these opportunities.
• Work with the Managing Director and senior management to perfect, implement and manage operational policies and procedures.
• Perform general office management duties.
• Implement the company’s performance management process to ensure delivery of the team’s objectives.

Qualifications/Experience:

• Fully qualified chartered accountant with at least seven years' accounting experience
• Prior experience in a leadership role is essential
• Ability to work in a high growth, fast paced environment
• Demonstrated success working in a results based business
• Commercially oriented and highly motivated
