MAIN PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB
• Preparing, examining and analysing financial reports, records and statutory accounts
• Preparing and submitting tax documents 
• Preparing and monitoring the Branch’s budget
• Maintenance of adequate systems and comprehensive controls in accordance with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) Handbook
• Devising effective and cost-efficient financial practices and procedures

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Account reconciliation 
• Prepare, examine and analyse daily, monthly, quarterly and year-end reporting
• Prepare statutory annual accounts
• Prepare and analyse management information
• Prepare and monitor the Branch’s budget  
• Process, check and monitor the Branch’s payroll
• Review and monitor internal controls in accordance with the applicable regulation, particularly the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) Handbook
• Manage payable accounts
• Provide information to internal and external stakeholders, e.g., Head Office (accounts, treasury, risk and budget), external auditors, clients and counterparties
• Calculate taxes owed and prepare tax returns; submit tax returns on time and track payments or refunds, i.e., VAT (Part- Exemption), Corporation Tax, PAYE, National Insurance
• Ensure accounting policies and controls are continuously reviewed, maintained and policed  
• Supervise accounting staff and daily operation as escalation point
• Work with the General Manager to assess the financial status and identify methods for cost-reduction and efficiency improvements
• Understand and adhere to all financial and accounting regulations and legislation

ACCOUNTANT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in accounting, finance or a related field will be advantageous
• Strong accounting and internal controls experience including the preparation of financial statements 
• Audit, statutory accounts and tax compliance experience
• In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and legislation will be advantageous, particularly the Client Assets Sourcebook (CASS) of the FCA 
• Ability to deliver accurate and timely management, tax and accounting information, operating within the required controls framework 
• Advanced mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills 
• Attention to detail, interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal 
• Advanced skills in MS Excel and SQL
• Knowledge of Spanish will be advantageous
