Reinsurance Accountant

Excellent opportunity for a Part Qualified or Qualified by Experience Insurance Accountant to join a leading Insurance and Reinsurance business based in the heart of the City.

Description

Working in the Reinsurance finance team, your role will be to undertake spend analysis, planning and forecasting, as well as managing peaks of activity and conflicting priorities within the team. The role will also take direct responsibility for premium booking, and premium adjustment calculations, a major component of the spend. Duties include:

• P&L analysis
  
• Reporting for SOx review
  
• Variance analysis
  
• Support Planning and forecasting
  
• Assist in developing forecasts through the year
  
• Assist in developing annual plan figure
  
• Improve direct reinsurance reporting
  

• Calculate accruals for premium and earnings on policies not live
  
• Calculate and submit premium adjustments to brokers/reinsurers
  
• Support planning and forecasting of XL spend
  
• Prepare Solvency II analysis of minimum premiums
  
• Track change in programmes and costs for management reporting and year on year analysis
  
• Management Reporting - develop high level analysis for reinsurance spend, Actual , Plan and Forecast in numbers and graphics

Profile

• Proven Finance background, Part Qualified or Finalist or Qualified by Experience
  
• Proven experience in the insurance and reinsurance business, preferably a combination of London Market and non-London Market.
  
• Practical experience in reinsurance and reinsurance accounting.
  
• Good organisational skills.
  
• IT literate and strong data extraction, manipulation and analysis skills.
