Purchase Ledger Officer

Responsible for Purchase Ledger duties, reporting into Purchase Ledger Manager.

Client Details

Our client is a well-known business based in the centre of Horsham looking to add a new Purchase Ledger Officer to their existing Purchase Ledger team.

Description

Process monthly payments

Undertake payment proposal process for Purchase Ledger and cheques/BACS weekly

Process credit notes in line with current procedure

Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any subsequent queries

Review 'Returned Purchase Order' search and re-index as appropriate on a daily basis

Run 'Review rejected' searches daily and re-index as appropriate, dealing with PO queries as applicable

Assist with payment run checking as required

Process cheque and BACS payments

Close the Purchase Ledger as appropriate

Check submitted purchase cards ready for processing

Resolve purchase card statement errors, complete journals for purchase cards and process purchase card reconciliations

Chase purchase card statements

Scan and index purchase cards onto Housing Docs (electronic filing).

Set up, amend and check supplier accounts

Profile

Proven experience of a computerised accounting system

Experience of the preparation of General Ledger input

A good understanding of control accounts and nominal ledger accounts

Excellent Excel, Access and word-processing skills

Good verbal and written communication skills at all levels

Able to relate to non-financial staff

Job Offer

£22,000 - £26,000 dependent on experience

23 days, plus public holidays. Also closed between Christmas and New Year, so you get another 3 days bonus!
