Job Description - Adviser Assistant / Trainee Associate Adviser

In this busy and varied role, initially your key focus will be to assist the team to manage and develop their business by providing a high level of client service as well as proactive administrative, reporting and analytical support.

You should be able to demonstrate current or recent experience, skills and attributes in the following areas:

  • Experience working in a support role within private wealth, investments or finance related business;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated client service ethic and proactivity;
  • The ability to plan and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines, in a fast paced environment;
  • Experience in the preparation of investment reports, performance spreadsheets, and presentations for client meetings, pitches and portfolio reviews.

It is envisaged that the successful candidate will commence initially as an Adviser Assistant with a view to developing into an Associate Advisor within 12 to 18 months. To support this transition, Ord Minnett will provide relevant formal training through its internal Associate Adviser Program, to help develop the skills needed to become a successful Private Client Adviser of the future.

Requirements for the role

  • Tertiary Qualification, preferably within a finance or business relate discipline;
  • RG146 compliant, or desire to complete accreditation;
  • Good understanding of financial investment markets and an awareness/knowledge of financial services products and services;
  • Proficient in using MS office; Excel, power point and with ability to learn market and other related systems.
