Well-established, profitable family-owned SME in the Peak District (£3m turnover) have an opportunity for a Bookkeeper to join them on a part time basis.You will be the main finance contact for the business, reporting to the owner.In a highly autonomous role you will enjoy lots of variety and a high degree of flexibility (in terms of managing your time, workload and hours).

The role:

·Month end processes - producing sets of accounts for the business using Sage.

·VAT returns.

·Bank Reconciliation.

·Reporting around sales / costs.

·Purchase and sales ledger duties.

·Some basic payroll responsibility.

·Assisting the MD with any ad hoc matters relating to the financial management of the robust SME.

There is arms length support from a consultant FD who works with the business at quarterly intervals. The MD is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper / Company Accountant who would enjoy the flexibility of this role.You must be comfortable in a standalone accounting role within a smaller business.

The organisation is successful and aspirational and the role will potentially develop as the business grows.You will have chance to implement your own systems, controls and processes and make you 'own stamp’ on the accounts function.

You will be:

An experienced Accountant / Bookkeeper seeking a role on a reduced hours basis with a high degree of flexibility.

A self-starter who enjoys working under their own steam without micro management.

Able to support the straight-talking owner of the business in the financial management on a day to day basis.

IT literate - experienced in Sage and Excel.

A friendly, approachable, hands-on individual who can help this SME expand and develop.
